Manifesting is not magick.

There ya go. I said it. When it comes to getting results, manifesting is not the same as magick.

Also, where did this trendy word manifest from? Please let me know?

Anyhoo, back to the hill I’m willing to die on.

I admit to being an old fashioned gal, when it comes to magick. I am suspicious of anything that comes across as trendy. Because trends come and go. They mean nothing, really. Other than fashion of culture, that will go away eventually, then come back around. Whereas the praxis of creating change via occult means has been steadfast for a very, very very long time. There is no need to look out for and use the latest, most popular way of describing things. Other than to make yourself look cool and involved? Great for marketing means, I guess?

So, what’s the difference?

In my book…

Manifesting is nothing more than choosing to think in the healthiest way about something you want. Having the mindset of seeing opportunities that others might miss. Even to the point of not noticing the micro decisions you’re making that’s leading you towards your desired outcome, so that your desired outcome might feel like a surprise when it happens?

Nothing more than a what a good life coach or hypnotist could do for you.

Changing your mindset in this way is great! I highly recommend every one does it. Your life will change for the better. But it’s not magick.

Intention is just really wanting something. Whether you include lighting a candle at the same time or not. It’s pretty, feel good, spicy psychology. I think its healthy. It’s definitely better than having no hope at all, or being too pessimistic. But it’s not working results magick.

So, what’s magick then, smart arse?

Imagine your life is a tapestry that is constantly being woven. A tapestry of just patterns.

The colours and patterns in your tapestry are there because of what your life involves in each moment since birth up to now. Say, you have the colour of your pet in your tapestry and that pattern is quit thick and strong. You also have the colour that represents a distant friend you sometimes have contact with, and that pattern is just one thread that comes in and out of your more dominant pattern.

The place you live has a colour and a pattern. So do the places you have been to, but less so. Some patterns are no longer being interwoven in your current pattern. Some new colours and patterns are starting to emerge as you meet new people, start a new job, buy a new car, ect. You get it?

Also, everyone’s tapestries look different. Different patterns. Different colours. Most tapestries patterns are quite predictable. If you had to draw the future pattern as a guess, you would probably draw it quite accurately based on what you can see so far.

Now. Imagine you want a desired outcome, one that is so opposite to the nature of your pattern that it is highly unlikely to happen organically. . You want the desired outcome of a tapestry so unlike yours, that without forcing a shift, a change in…..fate….or whatever you want to call it….it’s not going to be able to even fit into your tapestry.

This is where magick comes in.

I’m going to avoid, and leave for another time, the how of magick. As some people believe it wont work without help from spirit (the spirit of the natural tools you’re using, or a greater Spirit, for example). Some people do not use spirit but use planetary aid (oils, incense, time of day). Some people are able to create great change without any of this. Some people use all of the above. As you can see, that’s another conversation.

The important bit is, that magick un-weaves your predictable tapestry pattern to accommodate this new desired outcome pattern. Like a U-turn! It’s drastic! And it’s quick! You can never miss a true magick result! I would run out of fingers and toes trying to count the successes I have had and they still, to this day, make me laugh out loud after a moment of shock and awe, when they arrive. And then I go through another small moment of shock and awe, again.

Also, worth noting. If you’re successful at changing your tapestry this drastically, its hardly ever without pain. But then what do you expect? If can’t deal with a bit of sacrifice, maybe manifesting is more for you?

What do I mean by sacrifice? And pain?

You can stop standing in front of your cat. I don’t mean that kind of sacrifice.

Before you dabble in the dark arts, consider, what would be the easiest way that your desired outcome could come to pass?

I’m sure you have heard the stories before? Man does spell for millions of pounds. But the payout is unfortunately for a life changing accident he had. Or, woman does magick to get promotion for a job she is not actually ready for, but is tempted by the money. It works and now she is more stressed and less happy and hardly sees her family, life sucks, even with the money.

Being smart with your magick can prevent results like this. But there will probably be some fallout if you want to reweave your tapestry. That’s the pain I was talking about. It depends how drastic the change is that you create? Some things might have to go to make room for the new way that you caused?

If the change you want to make isn’t that much of a change at all, then manifesting will probably get you there. No drastic change needed? Go light your candle and set your intention.

Otherwise:

Know. DARE. Will and Keep Silent.
